Seven Styles To Consider For Your Custom Engagement Ring

If you want to design your own engagement ring, it helps to know a little bit about the different styles of rings you can use for the stones you choose for your ring.

When it comes to engagement rings, seven common styles are seen most often. These include both modern and traditional styles.

Solitaire: With a solitaire engagement ring, you have one stone in the ring center. There are no side stones to adorn the center stone. With a solitaire setting, the stone's shape in the metal used to support the stone can create a unique and straightforward design.

Side Stones: Many people like the side stone design where there is a single large center stone with small accent stones around it. If you want a little more sparkle on your ring, this is a good style.

Halo:  With a Halo design, a center stone is entirely surrounded by tiny stones around it. All stones around the primary stone create a halo effect. The center stone doesn't have to be circular; it can be almost any shape. Sometimes with a halo style setting, stones will also run along the entire band.

Three-Stone: With a three-stone setting, the primary stone is flanked by one smaller stone on each side, creating a three stones arrangement. With a three-stone arrangement, you may use a different stone for the smaller stones than for the primary stone if you want something that stuns. Three-stone engagement rings often have additional accents along with the band, such as scrolls or detailing.

Vintage: Another option is a vintage setting. A vintage setting is designed to be created brand-new but mimics the look of an antique ring.

Pave: With a pave ring, there is generally one large solitary stone surrounded by a band encrusted with stone set so closely together they create what looks like a solid surface. Have whatever stone you choose for your ring. This is a super sparkly style.

Infinity: An infinity engagement ring is another option. With this engagement ring, the band is twisted together to create the infinity symbol on either side of the primary stone. The twisted band creating the infinity symbol full may just be made of metal or include stones.

This is not an all-inclusive list of all potential engagement ring styles. These are just seven of the most popular engagement ring styles. Take some time to look at rings to discover which style you both like best.
